a lot of vocabulary necessary to describe jewish culture will be foreign to the average goy, which is totally understandable! if you see a term you don't recognize, it is probably here. if not, google is your friend!

bar/bat mitzvah - used as both an adjective and a noun, hebrew terms for a jew who has reached the age of maturity (thus, spiritual responsibility) and the ceremony associated with this event. "bar" means son, "bat" means daughter, so it is translated as "son/daughter of the commandment"

deep ecumenism - a jewish renewal value that acknowledges the importance of all spiritual traditions as paths to g-d

egalitarianism - in this context, it is the belief that jews of all genders have equal religious obligations and should have equal spiritual opportunities

gentile - a latin word meaning "of a family or nation" which often means non-jew in modern use

G-d - a respectful censoring of one of our deity's english titles done by many english-speaking jews

goy - a hebrew word meaning "nation" which is generally used to imply "from another nation/other nations" in regards to non-jews
